ITINERARY

DAY 1: ARRIVAL IN TBILISI AIRPORT
Arrival in Tbilisi Airport. Transfer to the hotel.
Overnight in Tbilisi.
DAY 2: TBILISI CITY TOUR
Breakfast at the hotel. Meet the guide and start Tbilisi City Tour: visit the main Christian Orthodox cathedral in Georgia Holy Trinity -“Sameba”, built in 21st c. Ride to Narikala Fortress 4th century AD by aerial cable car. The fortress used to serve as a main fortification and defended the city for centuries. Stroll down to Legvtakhevi, called also as “Fig Ravine”, a beautiful place with waterfall and a small river. Walk in the park near Sulfur bathhouses, well-known for their healing powers. Spend leisure time on Shardeni Street and its neighborhood: Meidan square is full of outdoor cafes, galleries and souvenir shops. Afterwards we cross the Bridge of Peace – a modern glass bridge in high-tech style, its nice place for photoshoot and getting good panoramic views of the city. Continue on Rustaveli Avenue to the National Museum of Georgia. The museum presents internationally significant collections of art and dynamic, changing exhibitions, which introduce the audiences the wonderful world of culture, science, art and education. The evidences of the oldest human existence in Eurasia are displayed together with magnificent Medieval Christian art, gold and silver jewelry from the ancient land of Colchis, spectacular modern and contemporary paintings of Georgian artists and masterpieces of the Oriental, Russian, Western, European and decorative arts.

DAY 3: TBILISI-MTSKHETA-GORI-UPLISTSIKHE-TBILISI
Breakfast at the hotel. Drive to Mtskheta. Located on the crossroads of Europe and Asia, Mtskheta had a very important strategic and economic advantages till late middle ages. The town used to be the capital of the Eastern Georgian kingdom of Iberia from the 4th c BC through the 5th c AD. Visit two UNESCO World Heritage sites: Svetitskhoveli Cathedral 11th c and Jvari monastery 6th c. Continue to Gori - a small city where we visit Stalin's house-museum.
There is marvelous medieval church in Ateni village with 10 km away from Gori nested between green rolling hills and hanging sweet grapes.
Explore Uplistsikhe-the most ancient caves dating back to 1st mill BC.
One more stop for Samtavisi Church which represents the pinnacle of early Georgian stone-carving.
In the evening drive back to Tbilisi. Overnight in Tbilisi.
DAY 4: TBILISI-TRANSFER TO THE AIRPORT
Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer to the Airport. Departure.
